Alwatan newspaper published a report revealing the details of embezzlement case that took place a while ago in which some employee of the public institution for social security in Damascus where the overall amount of peculated money reached 20 million Syrian pound.
According to admits of one of perpetrators, the deal was issued with the head of IT department of the institution in Damascus to take financial amounts from a network of illusory accounts after being found in the Commercial bank of Syria and sending out a credit cards of those accoupnts. Every employee of the perpetrators who carried out the operation had a mission; where someone had to find the report reported to the bank so to be stamped; while the other had to book the credit numbers of accounts then to remit illusory accumulated for these accounts and check the money later illegally.
Almost in every month cases of embezzlement and fabrications besides bribes and corruptions in governmental facilities and institutions are exposed. This proves that the government is blundering and unorganized where censorship is lost which is supposed to be tightened particularly in the capital Damascus for being a main center. However, corruption and security procedures are loose to the extent it becomes very difficult to stop them due to spreading and the high rate of them lately in regime held territories.
The same newspaper published in the same month “June” a report issued by Central Organization for Control and Audition in which it exposed some storekeepers in the hall of residence in Damascus university were involved in embezzlement case of more than 15 million Syrian pound in addition to materials that have not been financially estimated. The perpetrators were turned to judicature according to the newspaper.
“Maya” from Damascus countryside studies in economy faculty said: “more than half of the first semester is over; I went to the Hall of residence management to get a residence in it where they told me in every time that there was no empty rooms till I asked my friends who are of good relations with officials getting a residence”.
Maya added: ” One of no good relations with officials has no rights, so it is normally for employees to spend their time stealing and embezzling .Despite they pretend to turn perpetrators to Justice , it is an old trick since we know these are false procedures to make us believe that they are so concerned about public impartiality; one call of of the officials backing them the case can be closed to be released as being innocents”.
Regime has proved utter fail in the policy which counts basically on hypocrisy and praising on media that it works hard on finding security and punishing corrupters and perpetrators of stealing people money. Wonderingly, regime losses are increased day after day, corruption cases are not less even a little; probably the strangest thing is that whenever citizens are arrested, they are usually accused of many charges particularly treasury and dealing with armed men according to them; the crime of those allows regime to torture and kill them while who steal the people money are innocent and released once releasing his pro-regime.
