تم نشر التقرير السنوي لهيومن رايتس ووتش، حيث شمل العديد من مقالات انتهاكات حقوق
الإنسان في أكثر من 100 دولة وناقش حالة الاحتجاجات الأخيرة في إيران.
فيما يخص النظام الإيراني:
كتب هذا التقرير عن عام 2022، وجاء فيه أنّ السلطات قمعت احتجاجات حاشدة للمطالبة بالحقوق
الأساسية بوحشية، واستخدمت قوات الأمن بشكل غير قانوني القوة المميتة والمفرطة ضد المتظاهرين.
واعتقلت الحكومة الإيرانية وحكمت على العشرات من نشطاء حقوق الإنسان السلميين بتهم غامضة
تتعلق بالأمن القومي، ولم تحقق في تقارير انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان والتعذيب على أيدي الشرطة وعناصر الأمن.
كما استهدفت الأجهزة الأمنية الأقليات العرقية والدينية وفرضت بعنف قوانين الملابس التمييزية ضد النساء.
فيما وثقت هيومن رايتس ووتش استخدام قوات الأمن للبنادق الهجومية والمسدسات ضد المتظاهرين
في مواقف سلمية في الغالب.
أمّا المحاكم الإيرانية، وخاصة المحاكم الثورية، ترفض بانتظام إجراء محاكمات عادلة واستخدام الاعترافات
التي يُحتمل أن تكون منتزعة تحت التعذيب كدليل في المحكمة، لم تحقق السلطات بشكل هادف في
العديد من مزاعم التعذيب ضد المحتجزين، وتحد باستمرار من وصول المحتجزين إلى مستشار قانوني،
خاصة أثناء الاستجواب.
فقد تمّ إصدار أكثر من 1000 لائحة اتهام تتعلق بالاحتجاجات في سبتمبر ونوفمبر اعتبارًا من 14 نوفمبر/تشرين
الثاني، تم اتهام ما لا يقل عن 9 أشخاص بالمحاربة أو الفساد في الأرض. وكل من هذه الاتهامات يمكن أن يؤدي
إلى عقوبة الإعدام.
تعرّض السلطات حياة نشطاء حقوق الإنسان والمدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان للخطر بشكل مستمر من خلال
سجنهم وحرمانهم من الحصول على الرعاية الطبية الكافية والفورية.
نشرت منظمة العفو الدولية تقريراً يوثق الحرمان المتعمد من الحصول على الرعاية الطبية لأكثر من 90
سجيناً على مدى السنوات العشر الماضية .
لا تزال إيران من أوائل الدول في العالم من حيث تطبيق عقوبة الإعدام، ويشمل ذلك إعدام الأشخاص
المدانين بجرائم ارتكبت وهم أطفال ، وكذلك بتهم غامضة تتعلق بالأمن القومي وأحيانًا جرائم غير عنيفة.
