قال وزير الخارجية الأردني أيمن الصفدي اليوم الخميس إن الأردن غير قادر على قبول المزيد من اللاجئين السوريين، حتى لو تفاقمت الأزمة السورية المستمرة وأدت إلى نزوح جماعي للناس.
وذكرت وكالة الأنباء الكويتية أن الصفدي حث خلال مؤتمر صحفي مع نائب رئيس الوزراء الأيرلندي مايكل مارتن في عمان، المجتمع الدولي على تحمل مسؤوليته في توفير حق اللاجئين في العيش الكريم.
وبحث المسؤولان جهود التوصل إلى حل سياسي للأزمة السورية وفق نهج التدرج وقرار مجلس الأمن الدولي رقم 2254 وبما يلبي حقوق الشعب السوري في وطن آمن ومستقر مع الحفاظ على حقوق البلاد وسيادتها.
وسلط الصفدي الضوء على التهديدات الأمنية التي تشهدها المنطقة نتيجة الأزمة السورية، بما في ذلك الإرهاب وتهريب المخدرات.
ووقع مارتن والصفدي مذكرة تفاهم للتشاور السياسي بين البلدين، تتيح لهما الاجتماع بشكل منتظم ووضع أهداف محددة لتعزيز التعاون في مختلف المجالات والحفاظ على التنسيق في القضايا الإقليمية.
وأشاد الصفدي بجهود ايرلندا المتواصلة لتحقيق السلام بين اسرائيل والفلسطينيين على أساس حل الدولتين ووفقًا للقرارات الدولية.
وأوضح مارتن أن العلاقات بين أيرلندا والأردن تزداد قوة، لافتًا إلى أن البلدين يتقاسمان مواقف مماثلة، خاصة فيما يتعلق بعملية السلام الإسرائيلية الفلسطينية وحل الدولتين.
وخلال رحلته إلى الأردن، التقى مارتن أيضًا بالملك عبد الله الثاني لمناقشة جائزة العلماء الشباب وحفظ السلام والأمن والابتكار والتعاون الاقتصادي. كما قام بجولة في عمليات الأمم المتحدة في البلاد للاستماع مباشرة إلى اللاجئين السوريين حول التحديات التي يواجهونها.
