We have heard a lot in our childhood about birds immigration where we watched cartoon films revealing the phenomenon in an effective way that made us cry many times, since they were forced to abandon their country against their will in order to head warmer countries to survive fearing death out of coldness.
At that time we were not aware of the real meaning of immigration because we were completely sure that Allah would change the weather months later as seasons changed where they would come back again to their nests in spring. However, we have grown up where we meant to live in the stage of revolutions of Arab Spring Facing another meaning of immigration that is completely different from the first one but for “the wish to return to homeland” in common.
Several countries opened the door of immigration receiving Syrians under the pretext of caring about the Syrians fleeing war woes, Europe was the shelter of the biggest part of who decided to go through the experience of fleeing death. As living gets aggravated concurrently with escalation of bombardment of the areas held by opposition faction in the northern Syria, those countries slam the door in the Syrians’ faces through tightening the procedures and guarding the borders such as Turkey in the first place where it has built a wall on the borders with Syria. This reaction has been the knockout that increased the Syrians’ suffering and miseries.
Despite tightening the procedures of immigration and asylum which become something almost impossible, the idea still crosses the citizens’ minds due to the fierce campaign carried out by regime and Russia military fighters; like the attack in Khan Sheikhoun with toxic gases; here smugglers’ business has flourished as they make advantage of the Syrians taking a lot of money from them to reach Turkey; one can find many pages for smuggling on social media.
Mazen who has been a refugee in Turkey for three years, said: “ Who lives in Syria wish to leave it to get away from war running for his and his sons’ lives. Considering residents in refuging countries, the idea of getting back to homeland is always present in their minds regarding the bad treatment in refuging countries”.
Probably the incident of the Syrian refugee who set self on fire in Greece is the best proof of what Syrian are going through in refuging countries.
The Syrians now envy birds; they are dreaming of soon warmth in Syrian bringing them together from tiring reality as every immigrant returns to homeland.
