قالت منظمة العفو الدولية إنّ المجتمع الدولي أخفق في الإيفاء بالتزاماته تجاه اللاجئين في البلدان المجاورة لسوريا، ومنها لبنان.
نشرت منظمة العفو الدولية عبر حسابها الرسمي في موقع تويتر اليوم الإثنين ، سلسلة تغريدات أوضحت من خلالها فشل المجتمع الدولي بالإيفاء بالتزاماته تجاه اللاجئين السوريين في بلاد اللجوء المجاورة لسوريا.
بيّنت العفو الدولية أنّه وفقاً لبيانات المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين، فقد تمت فقط إعادة توطين 71 ألفًا و 793 لاجئاً من السوريين المقيمين في لبنان في بلدان أخرى، من بينها الولايات المتحدة الأميركية وكندا وفرنسا وأُستراليا والنرويج.
وأوضحت أنّ سبب ذلك يعود إلى محدودية عدد الأماكن التي خصصتها تلك البلدان لإعادة التوطين.
بينما دعت المنظمة مختلف البلدان، ومنها الدول الغربية والعربية، إلى زيادة حصصها في برامج إعادة التوطين وبرامج الممرات الإنسانية التكميلية.
وأكّدت أنّه يجب على تلك الدول المشاركة في تحمّل المسؤولية مع لبنان تجاه اللاجئين السوريين ، حيث أخفق المجتمع الدولي في الإيفاء بالتزاماته تجاههم ولا سيما في البلدان المجاورة مثل لبنان والأردن.
