يستخدم السوريون الذين لجؤوا إلى تركيا خلال الحرب، البوابات الحدودية الثلاثة في هاتاي للعودة إلى بلادهم بعد الإطاحة بنظام بشار أسد الذي دام 61 عامًا.
وبحسب وكالة الأناضول التركية يتوجه السوريون إلى بوابة سيلفجوزو الحدودية في منطقة الريحانية في الممر العازل الذي أنشأته قوات الدرك للحفاظ على النظام.
ويقف النساء والأطفال من بين السوريين الذين ينتظرون في الطابور في المنطقة حيث نصبت فرق البلدية خيامًا تحسبًا للأمطار المحتملة، يُمنحون الأولوية للمرور. أولئك الذين دورهم هو عبور الحدود بعد الانتهاء من الإجراءات الجمركية.
وتولي فرق الدرك، التي تتخذ احتياطاتها عند البوابة الحدودية، اهتمامًا كبيرًا بالأطفال السوريين العائدين إلى بلادهم مع عائلاتهم. ومن بين السوريين العائدين إلى بلادهم، يحمل البعض معهم مستلزمات منزلية مثل الأسرة والأثاث والغسالات في أكياس والبعض في عربات اليد.
وبحسب الأناضول يقدم الهلال الأحمر التركي وبعض منظمات الإغاثة الحساء الساخن والحلويات المتنوعة للعائلات السورية، وفرق الدرك التي تتخذ الاحتياطات اللازمة في المنطقة، وأعضاء الصحافة بالقرب من بوابة سيلفجوزو الحدودية. كما تساهم مركبات وحدة الخدمة المتنقلة لإدارة الهجرة المنتشرة في بوابات سيلفجوزو ويايلاداغي الحدودية في تسريع إجراءات خروج السوريين.
وشكر أيوب عبد القادر، الذي كان ينتظر المرور عبر بوابة جيلفيجوزو الحدودية، مراسل AA والأمة التركية على مساعدتهم. معربًا عن سعادته بالعودة إلى مسقط رأسه دمشق بعد حوالي 5 سنوات، قال عبد القادر: “انتهى الظلم في بلادنا، وانتهت حياة السجن. سأغادر هنا وأنا راضٍ جدًا. بارك الله في الأتراك. الأمة التركية فقط”. ساعدنا في العالم كله في أحد المطاعم في مرسين “كنت أعمل، والآن سأذهب إلى بلدي وأعمل هناك وأبدأ حياة جديدة”.
كما ذكر محمد غازي أنه عاش في أنطاليا لمدة 7 سنوات وانطلق للعودة إلى حلب. وذكر محمد بيديفي أنه عاد هو وزوجته وأولاده ووالدته إلى مسقط رأسه بإدلب بعد 13 عامًا. وقال محمد سليمان البالغ من العمر 21 عامًا، والذي كان ينتظر المرور عبر بوابة يايلاداغي الحدودية، إنه جاء إلى تركيا عندما كان عمره 15 عامًا.
ومشيرًا إلى أنه شرع في العودة إلى مسقط رأسه بعد حوالي 6 سنوات، قال سليمان: “أيد الله رجب طيب أردوغان، أحبه كثيرًا. الأتراك أناس لطيفون جدًا، والحمد لله أن الحرب في سوريا انتهت، ونحن ذاهبون”. إلى مسقط رأسنا الآن.” السوريون المتجمعون عند بوابة أونجوبينار الجمركية في كيليس، يتوجهون إلى بلادهم بعد إجراءاتهم في مركز العودة.

وقال هنداوي إنه نشأ في تركيا، “لقد نشأنا هنا، والآن سنذهب إلى حلب. لدينا منزل هناك. إذا دمر منزلنا، سنعيد بنائه ونستقر فيه”. كما ذكر عمر العمر البالغ من العمر 10 سنوات أنه ذهب إلى المدرسة في تركيا وسيواصل تعليمه في بلاده من الآن فصاعدًا.
وقال أحمد غبيش البالغ من العمر 12 عامًا: “لقد انتهت الحرب، وسأعود إلى منزلي الآن. سأفتقد تركيا، شكرًا تركيا”.
