نقلت صحيفة وول ستريت جورنال عن مسؤولين أميركيين أن حاملة الطائرات الأميركية “أبراهام لينكولن” والسفن الحربية المرافقة لها دخلت منطقة الشرق الأوسط، في إطار تحركات عسكرية أميركية متصاعدة في المنطقة.
وبحسب الصحيفة، تبحر الحاملة لينكولن برفقة ثلاث مدمرات حربية قادرة على إطلاق صواريخ توماهوك بعيدة المدى، في وقت أعلنت فيه واشنطن عن نشر مقاتلات من طراز “F-15E” في إحدى القواعد العسكرية داخل الأردن.
وأشارت المصادر الأميركية إلى أن الولايات المتحدة قامت أيضاً بنقل أنظمة دفاع جوي إلى المنطقة، بهدف حماية حلفائها ومنشآتها من أي هجمات إيرانية محتملة.
وأضافت الصحيفة أن بعض المعدات العسكرية وصلت بالفعل إلى المنطقة، في حين يُتوقع وصول المزيد منها خلال أسبوع أو أسبوعين.
