وخلال اللقاء، شدد معاون الأمين العام لشؤون مجلس الوزراء على أهمية إعداد تصور متكامل حول واقع تلك المدارس، ومتابعة الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة لاستعادة ملكيتها، مؤكدًا ضرورة تعزيز التنسيق مع وزارة التربية للوصول إلى حلول عملية تضمن حقوق الكنيسة اللاتينية وتحافظ في الوقت نفسه على مصلحة الطلاب واستقرار العملية التعليمية
من جهتهم، عبّر أعضاء الوفد عن تقديرهم للجهود الحكومية المبذولة في هذا الملف، مؤكدين أهمية التوصل إلى معالجات جذرية لقضايا الاستيلاء على الممتلكات، بما يسهم في تعزيز الاستقرارين التعليمي والديني في البلاد
وفي سياق متصل، كان الأمين العام لرئاسة الجمهورية ماهر الشرع قد أجرى في الثالث من كانون الثاني زيارة إلى بطريرك أنطاكية وسائر المشرق للروم الأرثوذكس يوحنا العاشر، على رأس وفد رسمي، في مقر الدار البطريركية بدمشق
ونقل ماهر الشرع خلال الزيارة تهاني الرئيس أحمد الشرع إلى غبطة البطريرك وأبناء الكنيسة الأنطاكية الأرثوذكسية بمناسبتي عيد الميلاد ورأس السنة، فيما أعرب البطريرك يوحنا العاشر عن شكره للرئيس الشرع، متمنيًا أن يحمل العام الجديد لسوريا المزيد من الخير والاستقرار والطمأنينة
