On an old wall it was written letters out of determination by kids who insist on pursuing their education despite the harsh circumstances of war which has stolen from them their childhood and murdered their innocent dreams. These letters form a phrase express their pains and wishes “We Want To Learn”.
They are the students of the rural school in Benish city which is the oldest one in the city, it was targeted with hatred raids by regime warplanes days ago resulting in becoming out of order completely after being shelled before where a part of it got severely damaged. It was Allah mercy that a horrifying massacre did not occur where half an hour earlier the raid it was crowded with students.
According the principle of the school the school parts will be fixed as possible aiming to reopen it again to receive the kids who remain in their houses since there is no school or the alternative place. This is going to happen by efforts of some supporters and the rich citizens of the city so that the students can attend their other house pursuing their education as if nothing did not happen.
Assad’s regime has never stop in all the years of the war targeting service facilities in the areas out of his control to release his anger and hatred through them and to forces the citizens to abandon the city heading his areas. With the launch of a new school year, regime intensive the air strikes using all the kinds of missiles so that its schools become its targets in violation of all the humanitarian standards being unconcerned about the big damage which can cause this bombardment. Assad intentionally dose this justifying that he is fighting terrorism seeds before growing up to fight him back.
Om-Mohammad from Benish city told us about her son’s feelings after his school was bombed:” he woke up this morning and then he dressed up for school to sit down sadly looking out of the window in grieve for seeing other students going to their school, I can not send him to school even if it gets reconstructed; regime has no mercy and can not be trusted it will not target it again”.
People are nervous and afraid in most liberated areas particularly in Idlib province and its countryside, where regime is launching a brutal and fierce military campaign backed by its ally Russia targeting everyday the gatherings in markets and schools. Many citizens forbidden their children and kids from going to school fearing raids by regime warplanes, while others become accustomed to the circumstances cause there is no hope of soon solution puts an end to this war.
Regime warplanes did not only ruin the school walls, but they also destroyed those memories which are kept in the mind of its students and kids in every corner and space.. on the wood desks. Regime for real seeks to fail the educational and pedagogic mission of the schools in liberated areas so that ignorance becomes the permanent title of the coming generations; however, with their phrase they wrote on the walls, they defeat their enemies and their plans. What have been destroyed are going to be build again to pursue knowledge.
