A Russian officer was killed Tuesday evening in clashes that broke out with rebels in the countryside northern Lattakia governorate.
Activists posted on social media a photo of a Russian officer in special forces in Hmeimim base, who was killed on Tuesday as rebels launched mortar shells at regime-held locations on the outskirts of Kansapa town in the rural north of Lattakia.
The report of the death of the 33-year Russian officer was reported on Nawras Center for Studies without any additional information.
