وجرى توقيع الاتفاقية في مبنى المؤسسة السورية للبريد بدمشق بحضور وزير الاتصالات وتقانة المعلومات، عبد السلام هيكل، وذلك في إطار الجهود الرامية إلى توسيع الخدمات المقدمة عبر شبكة البريد وتعزيز التحول الرقمي في المؤسسات الحكومية
وتهدف الاتفاقية إلى توفير وسيلة سهلة وآمنة للمشتركين للحصول على خدمات سيريتل عبر مكاتب البريد، بما يسهم في تحسين الوصول إلى الخدمات الاتصالية وتوسيع نطاق استفادة المواطنين منها، خاصة في المناطق التي تفتقر إلى مراكز الخدمة المباشرة
وأكدت الجهات المعنية أن الخطوة تأتي ضمن خطة وزارة الاتصالات لتطوير دور البريد السوري وتحويله إلى منصة متكاملة لتقديم الخدمات الرقمية والمالية، بما يرفع كفاءة الخدمات العامة ويعزز انتشارها على مستوى البلاد
وفي سياق متصل، أعلنت المؤسسة السورية للبريد إعادة تشغيل خدمة نقل الطرود البريدية الداخلية والشحن بين المحافظات اعتبارًا من 24 أيار/مايو 2026، بعد فترة توقف استمرت نتيجة التحديات التي واجهت قطاع النقل والخدمات اللوجستية خلال السنوات الماضية
وأوضحت المؤسسة أن الخدمة تتيح إرسال واستقبال الطرود والشحنات التي يصل وزنها إلى 30 كيلوغرامًا، ضمن آلية نقل جديدة تهدف إلى تسريع عمليات الشحن وتحسين حركة الطرود بين المحافظات السورية
وأضافت أن المرحلة الأولى من تشغيل الخدمة بدأت عبر الصالات المركزية التابعة لمديريات البريد في المحافظات، على أن يجري التوسع تدريجيًا لتشمل المراكز والمكاتب البريدية الأخرى في مختلف المناطق
