The war launched by regime and its allies has left in Idlib, which is currently under fire, negative effects on children’s psychology, that brutal war is a crime against all humanity where it is getting fiercer with the world communities’ complicity which claim protecting humanity and the human rights. Innocent children are affected as this war’s results chase them all their lives which is another crime.
Probably adults can take the shocks and suffering adapting to the painful reality forced on them for years, but children are just the opposite, where the terrors and disasters accompanying wars can destabilize the children’s psychology for life.
Om Hala, the displaced who recently reached Idlib city, revealed in her speech with us the main reason of the sudden exodus where worries aroused by what has happened in Khan Sheikhoun and the massacres committed with devastating weapons claiming souls of innocent civilians without any mercy or any consideration for utilizing those internationally forbidden weapons, she said: “ Fear which seems clear in wakefulness, has befallen my little daughter for seeing the photos of children’s bodies fighting to survive with tired breaths, while others revealed other children who passed away for inhaling toxic gases that are way tough beyond their tolerance and fragile bodies. The terrifying scenes prevent her form sleeping since children’s memory can not comprehende those incidents. Ah where can I go and take her? I am alone without my husband as he has been arrested by regime forces”.
Her neighbor ‘Om Fatimah’ is not in better condition; she told us with deep tone: “My brother and his wife suffocated due to toxic gases which spread in the location, the thing has made their survived daughter becomes silenced abandoning food as grieve and sadness has befallen her”.
We can not forget the dangers of the psychological disorders accompanying the children after a fierce bombardment which happened in Khan Sheikhon; Hajar who is a nurse and a first medic, said: “I was treating a ten-year boy who suffered from high temperature where he had tonsillitis, he was babbling with tears “I do not want to live.. why my brother went to heaven and took my sister leaving me behind.. I can not live without them”.
In addition to those, another negative social attitude is that people are no longer attending schools, work or even social meeting, Abo Omar said: “the social attitude of my sons has changed as they refuse to go to work or even to accompany me to visit their grandfather despite they used to love to go there, grieve brings grieve”.
Absolutely parents have important role to decrease the effects of the psychological shock, and know how to deal with their children in the brutal campaign through arousing contentment and support them incorporeally telling them about the bright future of Syria soon someday.
