Probably in the Syrian society, children are more affected in comparison with the adults in the Syrian war that claimed thousand innocent souls, leaving negative results on their lives and fragile psychology.
One of the most negative problems and phenomena which the Syrian children are going through, is child labor particularly speaking the ages (9 up to 13 years), where it become so wide and common recently. Probably the first reason is missing one of the parents or lacking awareness of its risks.
Mr. Amar, who is working in an organization in psychological support field, spoke to us about this phenomenon; he said: “ I was recently surprised with the high rate of children who abandoned their schools, the thing pushed me to head the market of Idlib city during school time. I actually expected that; I saw so many children working in different careers”.
“I entered a restaurant in which a boy was working and asked him why he was not at school to answer me laughingly ‘I forgot school.. My teacher used to tell me I am a stupid pupil. So I will not waste my time in that place’. Here I realized school and its staff have the duty to teach and to support them psychologically, which is unfortunately missed in schools”, he proceeded.
We are all aware of the fact that the financial amount of money earned by the working children, can only cover the basic needs of living for a few days; yet the children want to work, maybe to prove their personality and compensate the incompletion they have had in the wake of war impacts. Here it becomes a necessity for organizations and charities to interfere to save childhood in order to put an end for this phenomenon, otherwise the coming generation will be undeveloped and ignorant.
