With burning tears and deep breaths, Abood aged nine years old held his father hand tightly fearing his father to go leaving him behind alone. He refused to go to summer school in order to learn what he had missed after that journey of movements with his family which has been taking place for three years without attending school . ” I do not want to go to school ..I do not like it .. I want to stay with my mother and father cause at school warplanes may target the school , besides the kids there are not friendly “. No doubt that the five-years war in Syria must has affected negatively in the life of Syrians causing them pressure and psychological disorders particularly for children for being the most affected since they are Syria future and growing generation.
In the Syrian revolution years, many Syrians have participated who refused humiliation and docility for a doctorate regime who practice suppression and brutality ; instead they choose to be labelled rebel better than Shabeha(pro-regime militias ) who regime consider to be terrorists seeking for destroying Syria .. forgetting bombardment , displacing and arresting that regime has committed . Abood’s father becomes rebel since the beginning against injustice and despotism . He comes from Hama city who has chosen to follow rebels’ steps hoping to offer his country something participating in liberating it from Assad , but continual moving life has its negative impacts on his family specially his children who were forced to abandon their schools because they keep moving .
Abood’s father stood at the school door after his son had refused to come in, narrating some of his pains and suffering: “my family and I moved to Idlib city two months ago where before we were living in Lattakia countryside since I was participating in the fight in the fronts of Alakkrad and Altorkman mountains ,but the harsh style of living there forced me to come here to Idlib. Now I am participating in the fight in Aleppo fronts being the closest front to the city in order to be able to see and check on my family”. He proceeded : “I get sad whenever I look at my children’s eyes ; what was their fault to be deprived from living stable and education , but it is my duty to defend my country and honor. That is why I decided to sent him to a summer school to learn reading , writing and social skills hoping he will forget what he has gone through “.
The teacher sympathize with Abood where she was managed to make him enter the class encouraging him with some nice words and candy ; he is really close to his father and mother like the rest of his generation who were born in war which had created psychological disorders. The teacher said: ” it really makes me sad to see him in such condition; his class mates compete in writing the lesson or doing exercises quickly at the time he hold the pen unable to write one letter , but I will teach him writing doing the best I can for him to leave that state he has been forced to live”.
With tears in his eyes his father said:” My son was named Basher ; however since the outbreak of the revolution, his mother and I decided to call him Abood because I can not call him with the name of a children killer and a destroyer of the country “.What is the fault of children to be deprived from their simplest rights just because what is happening in Syria is a universal conspiracy according to regime.
