“Abdel Qadir”.. A Child & A Victim Of The Syrian War Who Search IN The Eyes Of His Teacher For His Lost Mother Tendency

“Miss would be my mother in case my mom abandon me”, his eyes were filled with tears when Abdel Qadir Felt that he is going to go through doubled deprivation in the next days as his mother get married from another man after his father leaving him and his little brother, here his teacher becomes his only shelter and the best alternative for the tendency of his mother which started to fade away due to her decision starting a new matrimonial life.
Although he is only ten years old, Abdul Qadir has grown adult before time like the rest kids of Syria innocent children; regime forces arrested his father just before his eyes when he was 6 years old where the scene is still crossing his mind turning to be a memory which is hard to erase.
Abdul Qadir narrated that accident where he minutely mentioned every single detail:” I was sleeping when they started to knock the door violently like beasts, they were shouting ‘where is the terrorist who goes on demonstrations’, I was in my bed afraid hearing my dad screaming out of pain as they were punching him, and saying that he is innocent and not guilty. This was the last time I heard his voice; I wish I had not allowed them to take him, may be my mother would never left us… when I woke up in the morning I found some of his blood on the floor for being beaten up”.
These incidents are tough and difficult to be comprehended by the human brain; then how this child can take this criminality? The child at this age in the normal life is usually directed by the parents where they focus on promoting morals and raising values in him/ her since he/she is fragile and easy to be developed taking positive messages on which they can count on in dealing with others when they grow up. However, children in Syria have observe the life of war becoming fully aware of its details and its political and military dimensions as well as the social impacts. They well know the kind of jets flying in the skyline whether helicopters or fighting jets, and varied kinds of missiles and shells according to their sounds.
Abdul Qadir’s teacher narrated to us a part of his exhausted psychological condition after all this suffering:” his mother decided to get married and leave her kids for their uncle to take care of them, as her parents pressured on her under the pretext that she is still young and life goes on particularly after making sure her husband had died out of torture in regime custody”.
She added with brokenhearted sad tone:” Whenever I look at him I find him absent minded in the class as if he were an adult man with miseries and great concerns. He sits all alone most of the time and does not play with his mates. I try hard to compensate him as possible as I can for his loss, but nothing can replace the parents’ tendency and love”.
What is these kids’ fault in this war? It is a difficult question to answer. Well can we blame the unmerciful brutal regime which has deprived thousands women from their husbands, or the mother who chose to continue her life and build her future on her kids’ account?
