Documentation Office in Syrian Press Center (SPC), has documented last September 1097 martyrs in opposition factions-held areas, where the martyrs included 235 children and 195 women; roughly over 6 women passed away on every day in the month; the highest death toll took place in the governorates of Deir Ezzor and Raqqa.
*- The martyred women according to province:
– 93 women passed away in the governorate of Deir Azzor.
– 44 women passed away in the governorate of Idlib.
– 26 women passed away in the governorate of Raqqa.
– 15 women passed away in the governorate of Hama.
– 7 women passed away in the governorate of Homs.
– 4 women passed away in the governorate of Aleppo.
– 3 women passed away in the governorate of in Dara’.
– 2 women passed away in the governorate of Damascus countryside.
– 1 woman passed away in the governorate of Hasaka.
*- Documentation Office in SPC , has managed as well to document the killings against women by the main operating parties in the war in Syria through launching several killings; the killings are as follows:
1- The Syrian regime and pro-regime militias fighting on its side, killed 47 women in the wake of artillery shelling, airstrikes and other killings.
2- The military fighters of the International Coalition , which is launching a campaign against ISIS, killed 49 women through intense raids particularly on the provinces of Raqqa and Deir Azzor.
3- The Russian air force claimed the souls of 88 women through launching intense airstrikes, particularly in the provinces of Hama and Idlib.
4- ISIS killed 5 women with landmines, artillery shelling and other killings.
5- Besides, 4 women passed away in battles and shelling of ISIS – held villages and towns by the Kurdish Units.
6- In addition, 5 women passed away due to shortage of food and medicine, sinking and other killings.
7- While 2 women were shot dead by the Turkish borders guards “Gendarmes” on the Syria-Turkey borders.
*- It is worthy to mention that the women who passed away in the first half of 2017, have reached 600 women; including 227 women in the provinces of Raqaa and Deir Ezzor.
*- While the women who passed away in last August reached 106 women, according to a statistic by Documentation Office in Syrian Press Center.
