و ردًا على السؤال، أدلى عمدة المدينة غوموش أيضًا ببيان حول اللاجئين الذين تم القبض عليهم أثناء محاولتهم الهروب إلى الجزر اليونانية.
قال جوموش: “لا يوجد الكثير من المواطنين السوريين في المركز، ولكن يوجد في المناطق السياحية والصناعية، وفي مناطق جمع الحمضيات في جهة كويجيجيز. لا يوجد شيء مزعج في المفصلة بشكل عام. لا أعلم إذا كان أحد يعمل في المجالات السياحية، لكن اللاجئين الذين فروا إلى الجزر اليونانية عالقون في المناطق الساحلية. بالطبع، معروف من يفعل ذلك، المتاجرون بالبشر، لكن إذا سألتني، يريدون الهروب إلى الجزر اليونانية أو الذهاب إلى إيطاليا، أعتقد أنه يجب عليهم الذهاب. لأنهم أصبحوا عبئًا علينا.
و أضاف غوموش: “لقد أصبحنا عاطلين عن العمل بسببهم، وربما تصبح إيجارات المنازل أكثر تكلفة بسببهم. بعض الخبز الذي سنتقاسمه مع أصدقائنا يذهب إليهم، بالطبع يمكنهم الذهاب إذا كانوا في حاجة إليه، ولكن عندما يتم الاحتفاظ بما يتراوح بين 300 إلى 500 لاجئ محتجز في موغلا، يصبح الأمر مشكلة بالنسبة لنا. لا ينبغي إدخال هذا إلى البلاد على الإطلاق. فإذا كان سيهرب من خارج البلاد إلى بلد آخر فلا فائدة من إبقائه في هذا البلد. لا يستطيع اللاجئون الذين يأتون إلى هنا القيام بأي عمل هنا. لا توجد صناعة هنا. فقط في منطقة باير يوجد مصنع بمحاجر الرخام الخاصة به. هناك عدد قليل من الموظفين وبعضهم يعملون في الزراعة. إذا جاء اللاجئون إلى هنا من غزة، فلن يتمكن هذا البلد من التعامل مع الأمر. “لا نريد حتى أن نفكر في الأمر.”
