وافق وزراء خارجية العرب برئاسة وزير الخارجية المصري سامح شكري ، على عودة سورية إلى جامعة الدول العربية وسط استنكار معارضين معتبرين ذلك مكافأة للنظام الذي ارتكب مجازر بحق شعبه في الفترة الماضية.
صدر بيان عن الجامعة العربية اليوم أفاد بأنه تقرر استئناف مشاركة وفود حكومة النظام برئاسة بشار الأسد في اجتماعات مجلس جامعة الدول العربية، وجميع المنظمات والأجهزة التابعة لها اعتبارًا من 7 مايو- أيار العام الحالي.
تستمر بعض الدول باعتراضها على عودة سورية إلى الجامعة العربية خصوصًا قطر و ذلك لعدم زوال الأسباب التي أدت لعزلها.
تصر مصر على تطبيق القرار 2254 للحل ، مقابل فتح الطريق أمام سورية للعودة إلى الجامعة.
يؤكد معارضون على أنّ إعادة دمشق لعضوية الجامعة العربية يعد بمثابة “المكافأة” لنظام الأسد الذي “ارتكب مجازر بحق شعبه” طوال سنوات الحرب وفق موقع الحرة اليوم.
صرح المحلل السياسي السوري المعارض، سامر خليوي لموقع الحرة اليوم إن العودة للجامعة العربية “هي مكافأة للنظام وتشجع بقية الأنظمة الديكتاتورية لارتكاب مجازر والإفلات من العقاب”.
وأشار خليوي إلى أنّ الشعب السوري “انتفض ولايزال منتفضًا ولن يقبل إلا بتحقيق المطالب التي خرج من أجلها” في عام 2011.
واجهت إعادة تأهيل سوريا معارضة من الدول الغربية حيث قالت الولايات المتحدة إنها “لن تطبع العلاقات مع نظام الأسد ونحن لا ندعم تطبيع الآخرين مع دمشق أيضًا” ، وفقًا لنائب المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية فيدانت باتيل.
