أفادت وزارة الداخلية بتعرّض عناصر الأمن المكلّفين بحماية الاحتجاجات في مدينة اللاذقية لاعتداءات مباشرة، إلى جانب تسجيل حوادث استهداف مماثلة في ريف طرطوس، نفذتها مجموعات قالت إنها على صلة بعناصر من النظام البائد الجمعة الماضية.
وذكرت الوزارة في بيان رسمي أن بعض التحركات الاحتجاجية انحرفت عن مسارها السلمي، ما أسفر عن الاعتداء على قوى الأمن، مشددة على أن استهداف العناصر الأمنية يشكّل جريمة يعاقب عليها القانون، مؤكدة استمرار ملاحقة المتورطين واتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية بحقهم
في السياق ذاته، أعلنت إدارة الإعلام والاتصال في وزارة الدفاع دخول وحدات من الجيش، مدعومة بآليات مصفحة ومدرعات، إلى مراكز مدن اللاذقية وطرطوس، وذلك على خلفية تصاعد أعمال الاستهداف التي نفذتها مجموعات “خارجة عن القانون” بحق الأهالي وقوى الأمن
وأكدت وزارة الدفاع أن انتشار الجيش يهدف إلى تعزيز الأمن وإعادة الاستقرار، بالتنسيق مع قوى الأمن الداخلي، ومنع تفاقم حالة الفوضى
وشهدت مدن اللاذقية وطرطوس وجبلة، مظاهرات واسعة احتجاجًا على تفجير المسجد في حمص، وعلى حوادث القتل وتدهور الوضع الأمني، وذلك استجابة لدعوات أطلقها ناشطون وناشطات للإضراب والاحتجاج، وطالب المتظاهرون بتوفير الحماية، ووضع حد لحالة الانفلات الأمني، إضافة إلى الإفراج عن المعتقلين
