تستمر في العاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن اجتماعات صندوق النقد والبنك الدوليين السنوية، وسط حضور رسمي سوري هو الأول من نوعه منذ سنوات، يرأسه وزير المالية محمد برنية، في مؤشر على عودة تدريجية للتواصل بين دمشق والمؤسسات المالية الدولية
وفي كلمته خلال الاجتماعات، تحدث الوزير برنية عن مسار الإصلاحات الاقتصادية التي تعمل عليها الحكومة السورية لمواجهة التحديات الداخلية والخارجية، مؤكدًا أهمية استعادة التعاون مع المؤسسات الدولية لدعم جهود الإعمار والتنمية المستدامة، وتهيئة بيئة اقتصادية أكثر استقرارًا وجذبًا للاستثمار
وأوضح الوزير في منشور على صفحته الرسمية أن الوفد السوري شارك في الاجتماع الوزاري لمجموعة الدول الأربع والعشرين (G24)، وهي تكتل يمثل مصالح الدول النامية داخل النظام المالي العالمي، مذكرًا بأن سوريا من الدول المؤسسة لهذه المجموعة منذ تأسيسها في ستينيات القرن الماضي
وتناولت اجتماعات واشنطن مجموعة من القضايا الاقتصادية العالمية، من بينها سبل تمويل التنمية، وتعزيز التحول الرقمي، وتشجيع الابتكار في الاقتصادات النامية، إضافة إلى التحذير من تزايد مستويات المديونية وما تفرضه من مخاطر على الاستقرار المالي الدولي، وخلال سلسلة لقاءاته على هامش الاجتماعات، التقى الوزير برنية المديرة العامة لصندوق النقد الدولي كريستالينا غورغييفا، التي عبّرت عن ترحيبها بانخراط سوريا مجددًا في أروقة المؤسسات الدولية، مشيرة إلى أهمية الحوار البنّاء حول احتياجات المرحلة المقبلة
كما عقد الوزير اجتماعًا موسعًا مع نائب رئيس العمليات في الوكالة الدولية لضمان الاستثمار متعدد الأطراف (MIGA) التابعة للبنك الدولي، جنيد أحمد، تم خلاله بحث سبل تفعيل التعاون لدعم المشاريع الاستثمارية في سوريا
وناقش الطرفان إمكانية تقديم الوكالة ضمانات استثمارية للمشاريع داخل سوريا، بهدف طمأنة المستثمرين وتقليل المخاطر غير التجارية، الأمر الذي من شأنه أن يفتح الباب أمام تدفقات مالية جديدة، كما تم طرح فكرة إنشاء برامج ادخارية خاصة بالمغتربين السوريين بإدارة استثمارية احترافية، تتيح لهم المساهمة في إعادة الإعمار عبر صكوك وسندات وطنية مجزية
وأكد الوزير برنية أن عددًا من الشركات العالمية الكبرى أبدت اهتمامها بالدخول إلى السوق السورية، لكنها تنتظر وجود آليات ضمان استثمار فعالة، مضيفًا أن هناك توافقًا مع الوكالة على خطوات تنفيذية ملموسة في هذا الاتجاه، وأن وفدًا من “ميغا” سيزور دمشق خلال الشهر المقبل لبحث التفاصيل، وفي إطار تعزيز التعاون التنموي، التقى الوفد السوري أيضًا الرئيس التنفيذي لبرنامج الخليج العربي للتنمية (AGFUND) ناصر القحطاني، حيث جرى الاتفاق على إعادة تفعيل المشاريع التنموية الصغيرة والمتناهية الصغر في سوريا، خاصة في القطاع الزراعي وبرامج التدريب المهني، بما يساهم في خلق فرص عمل وتحسين سبل المعيشة للفئات محدودة الدخل
