وفي حديثه عن المشاهد التي تابعها من العاصمة الإيرانية طهران، قال ترامب “الناس هناك يكرهون خامنئي”، واضاف قائلًا: “ما يذرفونه هو دموع مزيفة”، في إشارة إلى المشيعين الذين ظهروا وهم يبكون خلال المراسم.
وشهدت طهران مراسم تشييع حاشدة شارك فيها مئات الآلاف، فيما نقلت وكالة تسنيم شبه الرسمية عن وزارة الصحة الإيرانية تقديرات تشير إلى إمكانية مشاركة نحو 15 مليون شخص في مراسم الوداع الممتدة على مدار يومين إلى ثلاثة أيام.
ورددت الحشود شعارات من بينها “الموت لأميركا” و”الموت لإسرائيل”، كما رفع بعض المشاركين لافتات تدعو إلى اغتيال ترامب، فيما هتف آخرون بشعارات تطالب بـ”الانتقام”، بالتزامن مع تعهد مسؤولين إيرانيين بـ”تحقيق العدالة” بعد الضربة الأميركية الإسرائيلية التي أسفرت عن مقتل خامنئي.
وفي سياق متصل، غاب المرشد الإيراني الجديد مجتبى خامنئي عن مراسم التشييع، وسط تقارير أفادت بأنه لم يظهر علنًا منذ اندلاع الحرب، وأن الأجهزة الأمنية استبعدت مشاركته في الجنازة خشية تعرضه لاستهداف إسرائيلي جديد.
