ذكرت صحيفة Sabır Gazetesi أنه اعتبارًا من 23 يونيو 2022، بلغ عدد السوريين الحاصلين على وضع الحماية المؤقتة المسجلين في العثمانية 48 ألفًا و192. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، هناك 8 آلاف و137 مواطنًا سوريًّا في عثمانية جودتي. ولم يستبعد أهالي العثمانية الناس من سوريا وساعدوهم في العثور على عمل وسكن. إلا أنه تم ترحيل 19 ألفًا و336 سوريًّا بسبب مشاكل تتعلق بالنظام العام.
وذكرت الصحيفة أن مشاركة المهاجرين السوريين في الحياة التجارية في العثمانية كانت موضع ترحيب بشكل عام من قبل السكان المحليين. وبما أن المهاجرين السوريين يقبلون بشكل عام العمل في وظائف منخفضة الأجر ولا تتطلب مهارات، فقد تسببوا في انخفاض الأجور في بعض القطاعات. وقد أدى ذلك إلى زيادة المنافسة على العمال المحليين، وخاصة في قطاعات البناء والزراعة والخدمات، ولكنه وفر أيضًا عمالة ميسورة التكلفة لبعض أصحاب العمل.
وأضافت الصحيفة أن دراسة حول تكيف الأطفال اللاجئين السوريين مع الحياة التعليمية في العثمانية، شارك 604 طلاب لاجئين طوعًا في الاستطلاع وجد الاستطلاع فيها أن الطلاب كانوا واعين بشكل عام بشأن الالتحاق بالمدرسة، لكنهم مازالوا يواجهون صعوبات في اللغة. لقد تقرر أن التكيف يزداد مع زيادة الوقت الذي يقضيه في تركيا، ولكن تم ذكر أن خدمات إعادة التأهيل تحتاج إلى تكثيف من أجل اختصار الوقت اللازم للتكيف.
أما المشكلة الكبيرة في الأسر السورية فهي عدم قدرة الفتيات على الاستفادة من حقهن في التعليم بشكل كافٍ بسبب زواجهن في سن مبكرة أو بقائهن في وضع يساعد أمهاتهن في المنزل. ويذكر أنه من أجل التغلب على هذا الوضع لابد من إزالة مخاوف الأسر وهمومها.
