وقال وزير الدفاع أوستن في واشنطن إنه سيتم إرسال حاملة طائرات ثانية إلى شرق البحر الأبيض المتوسط: ستنضم “USS Dwight D. Eisenhower” إلى “USS Gerald R. Ford” التي تم نقلها بالفعل إلى هناك. والهدف هو ردع الأعمال العدائية ضد إسرائيل ومحاولات توسيع الحرب. وكما أعلن البنتاغون أيضًا، سيتم أيضًا نقل طراد صواريخ موجه ومدمرتين إلى المنطقة البحرية قبالة إسرائيل.
يجتمع رؤساء دول وحكومات الاتحاد الأوروبي، الثلاثاء القادم، في قمة افتراضية خاصة لبحث الوضع في إسرائيل وقطاع غزة للتوصل إلى موقف مشترك وتحديد نهج واضح وموحد بحسب ما نقلت وسائل الإعلام، وتسعى المفوضية الأوروبية لزيادة المساعدات الإنسانية لقطاع غزة بمقدار 50 مليون يورو لتصبح 75 مليون يورو لمساعدة أهل غزة لوصولهم للأساسيات التي يحتاجونها.
وأعلن الدبلوماسي تشاي جون على قناة CCTV الحكومية الصينية أنه سيسافر لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وسيعمل من أجل التوصل إلى وقف لإطلاق النار بين إسرائيل وحركة حماس. وتعزيز محادثات السلام المحتملة، وكانت الصين قد دعت بالفعل أمس إلى عقد مؤتمر دولي للسلام وحذرت من أن الأزمة في الشرق الأوسط قد تخرج عن نطاق السيطرة.
وفي إطار مساعي المملكة لوقف الحرب في غزة، التقى وزير الخارجية الأميركي بلينكن بولي العهد السعودي الأمير محمد بن سلمان في الرياض ، في إطار محاولات الحكومة الأمريكية منذ أيام منع اتساع نطاق الصراع بين إسرائيل وحماس، وأكد الأمير محمد بأن السعودية ترفض استهداف المدنيين وتعطيل البنى التحتية في غزة ويجب احترام القانون الدولي الإنساني بما في ذلك رفع الحصار عن غزة، وتسعى المملكة لتكثيف جهودها للتواصل للتهدئة ووقف التصعيد في غزة.
