“Alomaweyyen” plaza was dyed on last Friday with different bright colors which was released in the air just like those ones carried out by citizens in India, in a marathon named “I Love Damascus” by a group of young men and young ladies in Damascus city celebrating the forty-third Anniversary of October War. “Bisher Alsabban” the governor of Damascus and “Bisher Alyazijy” the Tourism minister attended the celebration in which they inaugurated a monument with the phrase “I Love Damascus” written on it.
During the dancing and rowdy celebration, several events took place after participants
darted in with colors dying their bodies and clothes with, besides songs about “Homeland” and “Homeland Leader” -according to them- were so loud and could be heard in all the plaza. Colorful balloons were launched; Bright colors dyed their laughing faces in an expression of their happiness and joy about this celebration.
Local media reported Alyazjy:” The participation of the Syrian Young in this event fulfill their participation and existence in all the fronts in our homeland whether in fighting fronts, collage desks or even work places where at this time in particular it is a big indication of the complete belief in victory”.
At the time Alsabban commented on the celebration in his meet with the Syrian TV :” People’s will will not break down, it will be stronger than anything else, and hosting the army is the title of victory”.
As if the minister of Tourism were living in another world and not aware of what is going on in Syria; how can the young who gathered to dance and imitate the west in their traditions and customs; who were showing off about their selfie; complete those on the fronts?? May be he is right for both the parties have no sense of responsibility or respecting others”, that is what a citizen in Damascus said once seeing the videos broadcasted on social media showing the over joy of the celebration.
A the time Damascus streets were dyed with colors in celebration_ as a clear proof that war has never come close to them, and that life is normal as if nothing happened_ the cities and neighborhoods in liberated areas are colored in red; the color of martyrs’ blood and souls of the children. The question arises here in this shameful situation: how can they celebrate in Damascus while their neighborhoods in Qodsayya and Alhama are being targeted daily to dozens barrel bombs without mercy or sympathy??
Probably what is taking place clearly signifies the immorality to which the young in Damascus has reached to due to be
unconcerned about what is going on in the other Syrian cities or about the suffering of besieged cities from offensive, hunger and deprivation.. what is the benefit they had of this celebration at the time of tragically circumstances which Syria in general is going through. Abdullah commented on the video:” they continue to say one Syrian people .. then what about Aleppo.. people there are dying while others are dancing”.
