The Syrian people in the bloody years of war, has gone through the most miserable and tough sufferings and torture in a circumstances lacking the basic necessities of living including electricity, medication and water due to targeting the understructure in the clashes erupting between the fighting sides in Syria; so that the only victim here are the civilians regardless of their political oppositions whether in opposition or regime areas.
Probably the water crisis from which Damascus city is suffering since regime forces launch the military campaign against Wadi Barada areas and the deliberately and directly bombardment by regime fighting jets and destructive rockets of al-Fijeh spring, which is the first source to provide the city with water for drinking, is a clear proof of regime officials’ carelessness and irreverence about the people’s advantage not taking into consideration the disastrous results of how the situation will turn to be when the water will not pumped to the houses as the assault destroyed wide parts of the spring becoming out of service; then they come out on media with statements and lies that the people advantage and providing the basic necessities are on the list top of their duties.
The people in Damascus city are upset and angry from the strategy of indifference pursued by the wise government, which tried to find urgent solutions to save the situation before a humanitarian crisis takes place bringing diseases and closing the schools due to the outage of water.
In addition to destroying the water network in Ain Alfijeh, the river water was polluted with diesel, fuel and chlorine as regime helicopters dropped barrel bombs on the spring. So that this led to cut off the stream of Barada river in the first parts of Alrabweh and turning it to the upper stream of the river which could not contain the water for being abundant; the thing led to floods in the main street hampering the traffic there.
A citizen angrily commented:” there is no electricity, no water, no gas, no fuel for warming, salaries are not enough to afford living for a week, no hopes of anything to get improved.. there are only empty words and promises, people are cheating each other… for how long this will go on? I think the situation is about to erupt at any moment”.
Accusations started between opposition and regime forces; where in an attempt by the latter to acquit themselves depicting themselves as innocent to regime supporters, pro regime sources said, “opposition factions had put fuel in the water so that it was a must to cut off the water in order to prevent poisoning the citizens”; opposition accused regime forces with bombing the biggest stations of pumping in Alfijeh spring where the latter broadcasted photos of the ruin caused to the building of the spring.
Thanks Allah, water fell all around Syria, which was a source of bounties to some poor families unable to afford the daily quantity of water; some of them put some bowels on the balconies of their houses while others worked on collecting rain water in big plastic heat insulators to later use it.
May be the joy of the victory which took the websites and pages by storm regarding regime complete capture of Aleppo city after displacing its citizens, has not been completed; here is Damascus’s citizens are so angry from the policy of chaos, corruption and carelessness which strike the city.
