“Welcome To Aleppo”, it is a phrase which Om-Jawad has always dreamed of for three years enjoying seeing the road leading her to her dear beloved city, how much it was hard for her to leave the city where in every street of its there are thousands stories and tales, and on its ancient walls sweet memories hard to be forgotten. She along with her family were forced to abandon the city to head Idlib countryside after regime had called her sons for obligatory service in regime army.
She was overwhelmed and sense some hope of her dream coming true when the factions of Alfateh Army have launched the battle to break the siege on the city eastern neighborhoods and continuing to liberate Aleppo completely from regime held. Where she sits down holding in her hand the FM transceiver following in silence the developments of the battle and praying for rebels in a voice mixed with hope that may Allah support and aid them, for they have been managed in the first phase of the battle to liberate Assad Suburb and Menyan village besides 1070 Block, that the second phase has been launched with artillery shelling targeting 3000 Block and New Aleppo in addition to three car bombs that hit regime forces’ locations in the neighborhood.
The participating factions in the battle have bben managed to liberate several buildings in New Aleppo areas `with hopes to pray Friday prays in a mosque in the neighborhood so that clashes are still on between the two parties where regime forces had had lost so many soldiers to the extent Mogambo hospital got crowded with the bodies of their deaths including big officers. Successive collapses occur among the rest of regime forces who start to withdraw from their locations for fearing car bombs.
Om-Jawad said while her heart overwhelmed with longing to return to her dear city after rebels’ victories in it:” Although I have left my city for my sons’ sake who got martyred last year in the fronts in Aleppo northern countryside, I am so proud of my sons and their courage, their sacrifices and blood have not been wasted but offered for our sacred homeland”.
She is not the only one waiting for the victories of rebels but also the citizens in eastern Aleppo neighborhoods who are living bitter circumstances specially with winter coming with its coldness; they are in need of food, medicine and fuel, yet still hope to break the siege.
Om-Jawad finished her speech with tears beaten by hope smiles calling for optimism:” It is so painful to leave your home against your will abandoning everything you belong to and letting your city for corrupted people, but Allah will avenge us eventually.. it is time for right to beat oppression everyone coming back to his home without fearing those oppressors, Aleppo for all of us not theirs”.
