Tough winter like the life of Syrians all around the world has befallen them bringing cold and panic to be added to the list of their daily miseries, there is no way out of living this hell which they are meant to live for taking the call to flee the war in the homeland heading the similar camps of UN considering those who does not own a house, in which they can hide their pains and the shame of Arabs and the world countries who stand still in silence encouraging; in case they get touched, they declare and inveigh without any fruits on reality.
Probably the Syrians’ winter who are living in refuging camps in Lebanon is more tough, and their suffering is greater than those living in other refuge countries. What a kind of life they can live in a country that supposed to be a friend being nearby country; Lebanon country -whether its people or its government- has repeatedly expressed umbrage considering the Syrian refugees being on its land, where the people keep abusing and cursing the refugees; in addition, officials have many times declared that these refugees are negatively affecting Lebanese from the social and economical aspects.
It is a life disturbed by tension and fear, with winter advent, these poor become helpless to find a solution for freezing and snow which started to strike their weak tents which can not shelter them from cold but they only hide pains and longing tears for the Homeland and a ceiling protected them, after they were forced to abandon it against their will. Their problem is not about this year but it has been their problem since they have been destined to head these lands which they hoped to be good choice heading a country believed to reciprocate having mercy on them. However, they got shocked with the maltreatment and the extremely poor circumstances spread in the camps in Beqqa and Zahla near the Syria- Lebanon borders.
Syrians have lost hope of better circumstances in those camps; they spent their last winter among accumulated snow piles where the UN offered them quantities of fuel for warming that were enough to use the heaters for less than 5 hours a day letting their bodies and their children’s victims of cold the rest of the day, here some of them became forced to use wood they cut from the forests for heating, the thing led to dangers threatening their lives for living in camps of nylon.
For that reason, a fire kindled recently in a camp of Syrian refugees in Alfeda in Zahla in Lebanon. National Media Agency mentioned that a child had suffered from suffocation due to a fire had taken place inside the camp to be rushed to a hospital in the area; the fire destroyed about 12 tents without defining the reasons of the fire.
As if ordeal were meant to accompany the Syrians wherever they go, “Om-Hassan” -who is a refugee from Homs countryside revealed to us her misery in a camp in Beqqa she was living in:” I have no idea where to start.. the West are so ashamed to treat us like animals as the Lebanese do. To them we are transferring terrorism to their country at the time they are well aware of the fact that regime is behind it and not us.. They claim that their budget can not afford us warming in winter; we know that the UN and the humanitarian organizations are supporting that issue.. they stole with our names.. May Allah avenge us”.
