“My is with you my dear child, I wish I were with you with my body and soul living with you under in the siege miseries rather than living in humiliation here and watching without being able to dao anything about what is going on with you”, Zahra sits every day before TV in worry watching what is taking place in Aleppo city eastern besieged neighborhoods on channels linked to opposition; she sits with a hope she may hear something can satisfy her motherhood healing her rage so that her heart reassures about her son being there in those areas waiting with his wife for breaking the siege on them to enjoy the moment of embracing his mother.
Aleppo city in war years taking place, has gone in crisis where it has been classified one of the most dangerous peopled cities to live in it since regime and the Russian military fighters do not leave its liberated sky day and night. Its citizens are living in their continual offensive refusing the idea of yielding to regime oppressive conditions which aim to empty these neighborhoods from their citizens forcing them to abandon their homes heading Idlib province in a clear policy aiming to cause demographic change and replacing them with militias supporting regime. Here the citizens have two options either to live in the siege without food and medicine or to accept these conditions.
“Zahara” lives in a neighborhood controlled by regime in Aleppo western parts against her will in her small house. Her son aged 20 years has decided to follow the steps of rebels without her approval two years ago, he recently got married without his mother being able to share him this. She talked to us about her feelings after regime completely encircle eastern parts of Aleppo:” I feel pain and disgrace once seeing the brutal deeds committed by this regime on daily basis in the nearby neighborhoods, the scene of children feeling pain while being pulled from under the rubble can not be erased from my mind. What is increasing my grieve and suffering is that I am living in regime held areas watching their happiness and joy every day for warplanes launching hatred raids in those withstand neighborhoods claiming innocent souls”.
Her son condition is not better than her; one can see him all the time praying Allah that rebels’ missiles launched every while may not hurt any civilian in regime’s parts in the city, but to befall its soldiers and militias who are making advantage of its citizens and use them as human shields because they are completely aware of the fact rebels can not target a neighborhood crowded with armed less civilians even they are in regime areas.
Regime did violated the truce issued by Russia in Aleppo about opening a safe passages for who wants to leave those neighborhoods; however, they got shocked with citizens’ insistence to hold on to their homes not abandoning their city so that their truce failed. That is why they return to their previous policy by intensive the raids and offensive till those citizens yield. In response to this, some military factions united and decided to launch the battle in Aleppo to break the siege and completely liberated the city.
“I am coming mom, do not cry”, with these rebellious words he reassures his mother’s heart on every day. But will it witness on the next days developments for their advantage changing the scale so all Aleppo becomes liberated by rebels, are they just promises without fruits?
