As usual regime government likes surprises pleasing to it where it chooses the perfect time to announce its decisions to transgress the people; regime ministry of interior has declared a decision to raise fuel prices so that litter of gasoline costs 225 Syrian pound instead of 160 Syrian pound, and a litter of heating oil is 180 Syrian pound rather than 135 Syrian pound, while gas cylinder is 2500 Syrian pound instead of 1800 Syrian pounds.
Due to issuing the resolve social media gets furious and angry, for fuel is basic and the core in Syrians lives particularly with the lack of electricity in regime held territories where every aspect of services count on it. With this raise in prices of fuel, vegetables; meat and basic foodstuff such as rice, sugar, oil and margarine will cost more. In another words, the suffering of citizens will increase specially in this month Ramadan in which list shopping includes more foodstuff than the rest of months; as if regime government picks the suitable time to reach its goal and aim breaking the people will who despite difficulties stands strong.
One of the commenting on this “when we heard about how much the litter of gasoline and gas cylinder cost in liberated areas, we could not believe that.. is this possible; however now we are just like them and it is possible that on one day we may envy them when everything here becomes more expensive”.
Economists consider this raise of fuel prices will negatively affect the Syrian Pound so that it will witness a remarkable decline after the game regime plays lately with exchanging because of which Us dollar exchange with Syrian pound is 300 pound less. In the next few days, the anger of Syrians of this decision of unreasonable raise at a difficult time of poverty and difficulty finding the basic necessities of life will be clear.
Most filling stations in territories controlled by regime closed to be prepared to sell citizens fuel with the new prices once implementing the decision which caused crowds and long lines of cars before these stations to take turn to fill gasoline; at the time citizens rushed to replace empty gas cylinders with full ones from the sellers before dealing with the new price.
Mockingly Maher Bayrowti commented on the decision: “if they took cars and jeeps of ministers and officials, they would be better and would save some gasoline. While Wafaa commented: ” The worst thing about this raise is that it comes in this month Ramadan and before Eid ;a direct killing”.
Anger Syrians on social media have not calm down until now. They are wondering, “what the government has offered to us in the years of war? It offered nothing , it has not issue any decision that serve citizens; all its concern is raising prices due to the fact that this call was preceded by another one of raising of communications payments and another of raising bread price.
Abo-mahmood sat on near his house so desperate and confused thinking and considering the developments of the raise in fuel prices, he said: ” first transportations fees such taxis and buses will be more expensive, also foodstuff and vegetables, besides restaurants.. what can I count and count. Then later the government smartly will issue a raise of salaries where it will affect only the poor like me who are hardly find something to live on, Allah damn them”.
“Regime Government” it is disgraceful and shameful to be called such; it is not legitimate or trustworthy to citizens since the breakout of the war in Syria. Will its coming decisions be at the people advantage, or will it continue to raise the prices not considering citizens suffering?
