Syrian opposition placed in Cairo and Moscow announced on Monday their refusal to attend the Riyadh 2 conference proposed by the High Commission for Negotiations to form a unified delegation to the Syrian opposition.
In an interview with the head of Cairo platform, “Firas Al-Khalidi,” on Sunday, he told Smart agency that the Supreme Commission for Negotiations seeks through the Riyadh Conference to hold consultative meetings outside the framework of the United Nations,
“Russia today”reported that “Kadri Jamil” head of Moscow platform rejected the proposal of the Supreme Commission for negotiations, noting that the efforts of the Commission to unify the platforms is “positive” but it is more appropriate to hold the conference in Geneva, stressing that their refusal is because the meeting will be in Riyadh.
Jameel added that the only problem for unifying the three platforms is the “transitional government” basket. He believes that this should be done without any preconditions, especially on the staying or departure of the head of the regime.
