“Minor” is how eastern societies call women. Since we are living in the East then we are living in masculine community , so probably that label reflects women limited abilities which are lost without men being by them. However, Syrian women have proved in the years of war that they are capable . This war has made them stronger forcing them to go through difficult experiences that intolerable to women.
There is almost no spot in the Syrian Land on which women were not experiencing pain and suffering what would not mountains tolerate . with the outbreak of the sixth year of Syrian revolution, so many young men joined rebels in the fight against regime where their women have been so helpful despite the harsh circumstances and unstable style of living all women need.
Om-Hamed from Deir-Alzure narrated her story : “It was my husband’s dream to die as martyr for the cause of gaining liberty and dignity for the Syrian people ; he joined the fight in Homs fronts after we had been forced to abandon our city “Almayadeen “in Deir-Alzure countryside moving to Homs countryside . since then I did not know what is the meaning of stability since we moved from Homs countryside to Lattakia countryside then to Aleppo countryside where eventually we ended up in Idlib city”.
“I have no option but to accompany him wherever he goes to help him to achieve his dream and to be my children provider in his absence which may last for more than ten days during which I get worried fearing losing him and he achieving his dream, till he return from the battle with regime forces thanks Allah safe”, she added.
Om-farook” added: “a woman came to my house who found a feminine organization interested in women issues particularly those who had lost their husbands or sons , or without any provider . After that visit I decided to join the organization where now I am attending some courses that offer psychological support , another courses for computer programs, another hairdressing and another for sewing hoping to learn a career I earn living with for my family . I work hard doing my best to compensate my husband absence and harsh times they lived that do not fit children.”
We are not minor , we are not half of the society ;but we are the whole society . Despite the psychological and physical pressure we have gone through , you find us present and ready to take and accept anything ; our life are at Allah mercy not war and we do not choose it but we accept it with a smile on face that does not know and show but love.”
