The reality of pain and suffering is not away from the civilians of the civilians in Raqqa and its western countryside where thousands are fleeing as the military campaign carried out by Syria Democratic Forces continues; from the first look, exodus scenes seem like the running race which are usual to be broadcasted on TV in sport programs; but today it is a painful and tough scene for being fleeing from death an international coalition air strikes targeting Raqqa and its countryside.
Thid occurs in a complete absence of the local and international humanitarian efforts before those forcing displaced civilians who have no ways out in desolate areas missing all services but for a health care carried out by persons who seek charity to offer help as much as they can.
As Syria Democratic Forces backed by the ally “international coalition” seek to isolate the areas held by ISIS before the launch of the battle to capture it which they regard it “liberation”. Local sources said that about 200 deaths and scores wounded had been the death toll of raids by international coalition last week only, on the villages of Almansora and Qortuba in addition to the areas between Tabqqa and Raqqa cities; considering the fleeing people from the fire of bombardment, there is not no minute statistics.
The painful and worrying matter is that the areas to which armless civilians are heading, are another areas held by ISIS as well; the thing make them before a possibility of another displacement as the battle to liberate the area has launched under the label “Euphrates Anger”.
Regarding the situation of Euphrates Dam which is threatened to fall apart after its operating room was targeted and electricity being cut off from it, it is another factor arousing fear finding another factor to flee from drowning; the thing which Syrians have not tried yet after a series of methods for kill and destruction which are facing them at every moment.
Probably the damages have not met the real threatens till now, but at the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to the need of the danger of Euphrates Dam with a lake behind it of 14 billion m3 of water, where in case the dam collapsed for real, this means erasing cities and towns completely in Syria and Iraq at once.
Maybe the clear strategic advancement today of USA has made it a major player in the Syrian case, after international coalition has controlled the dam and Tabqa air port cutting off the road before regime forces preventing them form advancing to Raqqa.
Considering the advancement which has never changed its course since the launch of the Syrian revolution, is displacement and impasses following the civilians in Syria wherever they go; they are in a circle “ pincers jaws of war”.
