It is known to all of us the role media is playing which can seriously change the run of events and affect the public opinion during the years of the Syrian war for being important in reporting the reality without fabricating the facts.
Recently mass media has been busy with the developments and latest in the central prison of Hama after the prisoners carried out a new recalcitrance in the prison after regime forces violating the conditions that had been agreed on earlier which require releasing them consecutively , and pronouncing a judgment decision of new prisoners.
violent engagements took place between detainee and regime forces who tried to break into the prison several times to stop the recalcitrance, during which the prisoners were managed to captured the chief of the prison General “Jasem Alhossain” and the chief of Hama police “Ashraf Taha” besides seven police men .
Media followed the developments occurring in the prison ; “Ramy Abdul Raman” the head of the Syrian Humanitarian Monitor talked in call with “France 24” TV about the prisoners’ circumstances surprising the world describing them with “Islamic” despite to the fact there is no evidence confirming that any of them belongs to strict Islamic factions. His description was the smack against them and the pretext for regime who took advantage of it to justify if regime consider committing a massacre against them.
Media broadcasted videos and records of detainee inside the prison where in one of them they were appealing to the world and the UN to consider their case and to take a decision which they ended it with “Allah Akbar”. This phrase was taken by Abdul Raman as a proof to label them Islamic, although most of them were arrested between 2011-2012; they are civil prisoners of different sects including Alwaits from Misyaf town . They do not belong to any faction or parties; they are prisoners of opinion arrested for opposing regime .
Detainee through videos and records appeal to Red Cross and the humanitarian organizations to follow their case before regime as usual carry out brutal and suppressive procedures against them that may reach killing them and commit a massacre against them with a prepared pretext “regime killed extremist terrorists”. If they are extremists , they would appeal to Islamic factions . What was Abdul Rahman point depicting them with that although he is well aware of the fact how the West consider Islamic?
Although the depiction came as the stab against them considering his position in the Syrian Monitor where this affects negatively on the public opinion before the Arabic and Western Media , the thing tightens regime decreasing the opportunities of sympathizing with them since they are considered Islamic as if they are condemned to death while the fact they are only simple people who went on in demonstrations calling for freedom and dignity away from extremism and intransigence regardless of their sects or their political opinions. What is their fault if “Allah Akbar ” is a sign of extremism nowadays?
