“People are not the same” , a Syrian proverb which becomes a reality to be said in the time of harsh war that the Syrians are living where life gets blew to them living all kinds of torture and miseries of displacement and deprivation of life simple needs.
Mohammed who is aged 32 years has found himself homeless , displaced away from his homeland and without a job after he had lost his house and properties in his village Baness in Aleppo countryside where he had no choice but to leave the country and to seek asylum in Turkey in order to search for a job to support his family.
Mohammed headed Turkey alone leaving his family in Aleppo, however, due to the intensive battles and shelling of his village his family have decided to abandon the village and follow him. Here Mohammed’s story with generosity starts after he has gone through great suffering. He talked about it with a spark of hope in his eyes: “I found a house of four rooms in Allqwa city in Konya province in Turkey after agreeing on renting it with 400 Turkish pound.
He added: “After three months of residence in the house, the ceiling of the house started to leak the rain so that I went to one in charge for the house to afford for the spending of fixing it or to deduct them from the rent. The answer was no and told me a sentence I will never forget, ‘If it is not ok with you, you can leave it where many Syrians would like to hire.” Then I went back so sad considering how can I afford for fixing the house, at then I felt there is no way out .. I found my self lost in a strange country of no mercy that is not my Homeland.
“While I was thinking of a solution, my neighbor called on me asking ‘ what is the wrong?’. After I told him, he said ‘why do not you phone the owner of the house? .. may be he will understand your situation and help you. He gave me the number. Here I could see sparks of hope”, he proceeded.
Mohammed was shocked after calling the owner for knowing that the original rent is 200 Turkish pound not 400 where the one in charge of the house was making advantage of him. The owner of the house Meimat Tatsh met Mohammed where he showed his love for Syrians. After the meeting he decided to give house for free for Mohammed till war is over in Syria being able to go to his homeland.
His generosity has not stop here, he has made Mohammed an employee in a company he has without any effort or tiredness where every week he received 200 Turkish pound in addition to food meals basic food stuff for his house that he brings every while.
Mohammed said: “most Syrians particularly inside Syria believe that the Turkish people is using refugee fleeing death and that they are dealing with them on cruel basis, however, I want to change this mistaken belief through my personal experience. There are still good people, may be there are some bad people who distort city fame but on the other hand there are also good people”.
Mohammed wanted to pay back Mr. Meimat by thanking him for what has done to him hopefully to be a positive accident considering the good relations between the Syrian and Turkish peoples.
