179 Children Passed Away In Syria Last July

Documentation Office in Syrian Press Center (SPC), has documented last July 791 martyrs in opposition factions-held areas, where the martyrs included 179 children; roughly 6 children on every day in the month, where the highest death toll, 60%, took place in the governorates of Deir Azzor and Raqqa.

*- The martyred children according to province:

– 57 children in Raqqa.
– 53 children in Deir Azzor.
– 21 children in Damascus countryside.
– 15 children in Homs.
– 10 children in Aleppo.
– 6 children in Hama.
– 6 children in Idlib.
– 4 children in Dara’.
– 4 children in Hasaka.
– 3 children in Suwayda.

*- Documentation Office has managed as well to document the killings against children by the main operating parties in the war in Syria, the killings are as follows:

1- The Syrian regime and pro-regime militias fighting on its side killed 36 children in the wake of artillery shelling, airstrikes and other killings.

2- Russian air force claimed the souls of 22 children through launching intense airstrikes.

3- International Coalition jets, which are launching a campaign against ISIS, killed 87 children through intense raids particularly on Aleppo eastern rural and Raqqa and Deir Azzor provinces.

4- ISIS killed 13 children with landmines, artillery shelling and other killings.

5- Besides, 5 children passed away in battles and shelling of ISIS-held villages and towns by Kurdish Units.

6- While a child was shot dead by Gendarmes by the Syria-Turkey borders.

7- In addition, 12 children passed away due to shortage of food and medicine, sinking, hot weather and other killings.

8- Besides, 3 children were shot dead by opposition factions.

*- It is worthy to mention that the children who passed away since the outbreak of the Syrian revolution in March, 2011 till 2017, have reached 24799 children, according to several rights organizations including the Syrian Network Of Human Rights in its last statistic.

*- While the children who passed away in the first half of 2017, have reached 943 children, according to a statistic by Documentation Office in Syrian Press Center.
