“Cry Out Loud Daraya .. make the whole world hear you, cry till your cloths get wet, bleed till your wounds become out of blood. You were murdered, shelled and torn into carnages.. your children wondered in dark night.. despite all that.. maybe triumph will come out on your land?”, these were the words of Ahmad aged 25 years old from Idlib countryside once hearing and watching Daraya citizens spelling goodbye their precious land on social media.
After the armed opposition has issued a deal with the Syrian regime allowing civilians and armed to leave Daraya town in Damascus countryside after regime forces threatened them that this was the last opportunity for negotiation and that Daraya citizens would be exterminated in case they would refuse the decisions of the deputation.
Here Daraya citizens become forced to abandon their homes although they were standing strong taking pain and suffering for long years of barrel bombs shelling and the weak-helpless-means of siege carried out by regime who has lost humanity following the method of “hunger or kneeling down”; sieging innocent civilians who did not commit any fault but for saying no to oppression and demanding freedom which has been their request. In Four years patience was always accompanying the citizens in Daraya despite all breaking into attempts and bombardment in addition to the suffering of almost 8300 civilian who are need of food and medicine. They are accustomed to pray Allah to aid them.
After issuing the agreement allowing civilians to get out from Daraya to areas held by regime forces in Sahnaya town in Damascus countryside while fighters head Idlib city in north Syria; where this is supervised and guaranteed by the international Red Cross.
By a sad voice Ahmad’s friend said: “Our hearts are broken for you Daraya.. you the area of withstand.. you the legend that rock the world and not been rocked.. then what we can say about your people and citizens.. May Allah have mercy on you.. I hope you someday come back to Daraya achieving victory by Allah aid”.
All of us know the symbolic meaning of Daraya to the Syrian opposition; it was among the first to go on protests against Bashar Assad’s regime. In march in 2011 martyrs and wounded occurred dut to regime forces shooting at the peaceful protesters of Daraya citizens and later on shelling them by artillery. Like the other protests in the Syrian cities, protests after being oppressed, turned to armed conflict where Draya became out of regime control four years ago becoming one of the first towns encircled by the latter.
Activists in Daraya revealed “mothers and young men went to say good bye their martyrs where their tears were more bitter than those shed on the day martyrs and their beloved passed away”.
Although Daraya is going through the most difficult moments when its citizens collect their simple remaining things taking them to remind them of Daraya.. however, Idlib city citizens have prepared for them what decrease their pains.
Ahmad said out loudly: “Our houses are yours.. never turn your heads low.. I swear by God your shoes are much higher than the heads of your oppressors.. you made us proud .. welcome today we receive you”.
