The cities in the liberated northern Syria become crowded, as most displaced people by force from the governorates of Aleppo, Damascus, Homs; have headed them seeking more stability and safety. However, death ghost is circling again around the people’s life with the launch of barbaric campaign by the Russian air force and regime warplanes, so that the scene is the same with one difference, and it is location. These people have lost their houses, land and properties as they abandoned their provinces fleeing inescapable death accepting settlement issuing their departure, to face the same danger in the only place in which they are forced to live.
The sound of sirens woke up residents in the city of Idlib on September 19 morning, warning armless civilians of raids by the air force which does not distinguish between civilians and fighters, between children and old, where its concern is waging raids randomly in vengeance for regime’s losses. Once citizens heard the sirens, they ran to hide leaving markets and gatherings fearing new massacres as usual. Radio transceiver sets were on again after putting them aside for months in the wake of the truce regarding military de-escalation.
The sirens were not working pointlessly; for they were arousing caution among civilians of the danger of those bloody military fighters, where 6 Russian fighting jets waged over 30 airstrikes on Thursday 21st September, committing a massacre against civilians with a death toll of 9 persons and scores wounded most of them children and women in Khan Shaykhon city in Idlib southern countryside; the city in which regime committed a horrifying chemical massacre months ago.
Abo Ahmad, who is a displaced citizen from Darya in Damascus countryside, said: “I do not know if the journey of displacement is without an end.. What is the next destination? We are completely aware that our destination is Allah, for we are only puppets controlled by certain players whenever and wherever they wish. As bombardment is intensive back again, we can only wait for what we will be dictated with no objection, where is peoples’ freedom for which so many souls were sacrificed calling for it?”
