Documentation Office” in Syria Press Center has managed at the end of last January to document 8 attacks on mosques and worship places in the areas held by opposition faction so that they become out of service during last January.
*- The mosques and worship places in accordance to the perpetrators are classified into the following order:
– 5 attacks by regime forces
– 2 attacks by Russian warplanes
– 1 attack by National Coalition
*- The mosques and worship places that were attacked are:
– Altabeh Mosque in Altabeh Shameh village in Deir Azzor province where regime warplanes waged a raid leaving middle material damages on 11th ,January
– Alfateh Mosque in Hazrama town in Damascus countryside province was bombed by regime forces with heavy artillery leading to middle damages in the building of the mosque and its furniture on 12th, January.
– Alshamaly Mosque in besieged Madays town in Damascus rural was bombed by regime forces with shells while Hezbollah witn launchers on 14th, January.
– Alkhalaf Mosque in Algareh Algharbeh town in Daraa countryside was shelled by regime forces with heavy artillery leaving massive destruction in the building and its furniture on 14th, January.
– Abo Jabar Mosque in Khirbet Kyar in Aleppo eastern countryside was bombed by Russian warplanes which led to massive destruction to the mosque becoming put of service on 18th, January.
– Alswedeh Kibereh village Mosque in Raqqa rural was assaulted by National Coalition jets leaving great damage to the mosque on 20th, January.
-Alboseed mosque in Almayadeen city in Deir Azzor countryside was targeted by regime warplanes causing massive destruction to the building on 22th, January
-Altabeh mosque in Altabeh Shameih village in Deir Azzor eastern countryside was hit by Russian jets leaving massive material damages becoming out of service on 23th, January.
It is worthy mentioning that the number of mosques and worship places which were hit last year 2016 reached 86 mosques according to a statistic by Documentation Office in Syrian press center.
