Documentation Office in Syrian Press Center (SPC), has documented 5158 martyrs authenticated with names in all around the Syrian provinces in 2017 so far. Idlib, Aleppo, Raqqa, Deir Azzor, Damascus rural and Dara’ have the highest death toll rates, in the wake of bombardment by regime forces, its Russian allies and pro regime militias, in addition to international coalition fighting jets and ISIS.
*- The martyrs are classified according to sex and occupation as follows:
– 895 children, including 3 fetuses.
– 580 women.
– 30 medics.
– 27 members in civil defense.
– 24 media activists.
– 3603 persons including ordinary civilians in the wake of aerial and artillrey shelling, and fighters while fighting off regime forces attempts to advance.
*- The martyrs according to provinces:
– 907 martyrs in Aleppo province.
– 817 martyrs in Raqqa province.
– 766 martyrs in Damascus countryside province.
– 701 martyrs in Idlib province.
– 654 martyrs in Dara’ province.
– 604 martyrs in Deir Azzor province.
– 313 martyrs in Hama province.
– 302 martyrs in Homs province.
– 45 martyrs in Damascus province.
– 34 martyrs in Hasaka province.
– 11 martyrs in Lattakia province.
– 4 martyrs in Quneitra province.
*- Documentation Office has managed to authenticate killings by perpetrators involved in military operations in Syria, as follows:
1- Regime forces and its pro-regime militias killed 2009 persons including civilians, in aerial and artillery bombardment, and fighters while stopping regime forces attempts to advance to areas held by opposition factions.
2- The Russian air force claimed the souls of 647 persons most of them civilians through carrying out intense raids.
3- International coalition fighting jets murdered 777 persons most of them civilians in violent aerial raids particularly in Raqqa and Deir Azzor provinces.
4- ISIS killed 659 persons most of them civilians in the wake of landmines and artillery bombardment.
-Besides, it was documented that 79 persons passed away out of torture in regime prisons.
– In addition, 24 persons died due to food and medicine shortage in the areas besieged by regime forces.
– While 24 persons were documented to be shot by the Turkish border guards Gendarmes, as they attempted to cross the borders from the Syrian land to the Turkish one, due to the dire circumstances in most the Syrian provinces.
