وأعلن يوآف غالانت : “نحن نجهز الأرضية لبقية الحملة، وستتبعها مراحل أخرى ”، مضيفًا أن “العملية البرية ستتم ” .
وأضاف: “أنا مصمم على بذل كل ما في وسعي لإعادة الرهائن إلى عائلاتهم. قال يوآف غالانت : “هذا هو واجبي الأهم، تمامًا مثل النصر الكامل في الحرب ”.
وأعلن الجيش الإسرائيلي، اليوم الخميس، أنه قتل نائب رئيس مديرية المخابرات التابعة لحركة حماس، شادي بارود، في غارة جوية.
ووفقا للجيش الإسرائيلي، كان شادي بارود “مسؤولا عن التخطيط هجوم 7 أكتوبر مع يحيى السنوار”، زعيم حماس في قطاع غزة. “بصفته رئيسًا لمركز مكافحة الحرائق التابع لوحدة عمليات حماس، خطط بارود للهجمات التي وقعت في 7 أكتوبر مع يحيى السنوار.
وكتب الجيش الإسرائيلي أن بارود كان في السابق قائد كتيبة تابعة لحماس في خان يونس وكان مسؤولا عن التخطيط للعديد من الهجمات الإرهابية ضد المدنيين الإسرائيليين .
