أصبحت مدينة مينيابوليس يوم أمس الخميس أول مدينة أمريكية كبرى تسمح برفع أذان المسلمين ، مما يسمح بسماع الأذان عبر مكبرات الصوت خمس مرات في اليوم على مدار العام، وفق ما ترجمه المركز الصحفي السوري عن موقع مينابوليس ستار تريبون بتصرّف.
فقد صوّت مجلس مدينة مينيابوليس بالإجماع على تعديل قانون الضوضاء في المدينة ، والذي كان يمنع أذان وقتي الفجر والعشاؤ في أوقات معينة من العام لأنها تحدث في أوقات من اليوم عندما تكون قيود الضوضاء قاسية، حسب وصفهم.
قال المدير التنفيذي لفرع مينيسوتا في مجلس العلاقات الأمريكية الإسلامية (كير) ،جيلاني حسين، بعد التصويت: “الدستور لا ينام ليلاً”. وقال إن عمل مينيابوليس يجب أن يظهر للعالم أنّ “أمة تقوم على حرية الدين تفي بوعدها”.
كان تصويت يوم الخميس ، خلال شهر رمضان المبارك ، بمثابة تتويج لجهود استمرت سنوات للسماح برفع المزيد الأذان في مينيابوليس ، التي أدى تزايد عدد سكانها من المهاجرين من شرق إفريقيا إلى انتشار المساجد في أرجائها.
ولم يكن تصويت المجلس بالإجماع فحسب ، بل لم يلق القرار أي معارضة مجتمعية منظمة. ومن المتوقع أن يوقع العمدة جاكوب فراي الإجراء في غضون أسبوع.
قال الإمام محمد دكولي من مسجد مسجد النور في مينيابوليس ، الذي كان من بين العديد من القادة المسلمين الذين شهدوا التصويت في غرف المجلس ، “أصبحت مينيابوليس مدينة لجميع الأديان”.
يذكر أنّ المدينة كانت قد سمحت برفع الأذان على مدار العام في العام الماضي ، ولكن فقط بين الساعة 7 صباحًا و 10 مساءً، حيث استبعدت قيود المدينة عادةً صلاة الفجر وأحيانًا صلاة العشاء.
ويضمن تغيير نظام الضوضاء في المدينة أن الأذان يمكن رفعه عبر مكبرات الصوت على مدار العام ، خمس مرات في اليوم.
