تعرب الرسالة عن القلق العميق إزاء تدهور حالة حقوق الإنسان في إيران ، حيث يعيش 80 بالمائة من السكان تحت خط الفقر بينما يواصل النظام إعدام مواطن واحد كل ست ساعات.
ينضم الحائزون على جائزة نوبل إلى الدعم العالمي لانتفاضة الشعب الإيراني الديمقراطية ، بما في ذلك تصريحات من 120 من قادة العالم السابقين ، وأغلبية أعضاء مجلس النواب الأمريكي ، والعديد من البرلمانات الأوروبية.
إنهم يدعمون خطة مريم رجوي ذات النقاط العشر ، والتي تعكس رغبة الشعب الإيراني في جمهورية علمانية تقوم على الحرية والديمقراطية ، والاقتراع العام ، والانتخابات الحرة، والمساواة بين الجنسين ، والدينية ، والعرقية ، وإيران غير نووية ، و سياسة خارجية تقوم على التعايش السلمي.
