حث خبراء أمميون على إعادة الأطفال المحتجزين في شمال شرق سوريا إلى أوطانهم بشكل عاجل، وضرورة حمايتهم في مناطق النزاع وليس معاقبتهم.
وبحسب بيان نشرته الأمم المتحدة على موقعها الرسمي مساء أمس، فإن حوالي 56 ألف امرأة وفتاة وفتى لا يزالون في مخيمي الهول والروج، من بينهم 37 ألف أجنبي، وأن هناك أكثر من 850 فتى آخر محرومين من حريتهم في السجون ومراكز الاحتجاز الأخرى في جميع أنحاء المنطقة.
وأكد الخبراء على أن الاعتقال الجماعي للأطفال في المنطقة بسبب ذنوب قد يكون اقترفها آباؤهم هو انتهاك صارخ لاتفاقية حقوق الطفل وحرمانهم حريتهم بشكل غير قانوني وتعسفي.
وشدد الخبراء على أن هؤلاء الأطفال المحتجزين يفتقرون إلى أبسط الاحتياجات مثل العلاج الطبي والخدمات الصحية والغذاء والماء والتعليم، والكثيرون منهم مصابون بالسل أو جروح لم تتم معالجتها ويعانون من سوء التغذية.
وحث الخبراء على ضرورة أن تستعيد هذه الدول هؤلاء الأطفال وأمهاتهم على وجه السرعة، مؤكدين ضرورة وضع برامج إعادة تأهيل شاملة لهم عند عودتهم إلى أوطانهم.
فيما تعد الحياة بالنسبة لقاطني مخيم الهول المكتظ من الأطفال في غاية الصعوبة نظرا للبيئة في الداخل، فضلا عن نقص الرعاية الطبية والخدمات الأساسية وحتى فرص التعليم، بيد أنه خلال العام الماضي أصبح الوضع داخل المخيم شديد الصعوبة من أي وقت مضى فيما يعود ذلك إلى تسجيل 126 جريمة قتل و 41 محاولة قتل.
