نقلًا عن موقع المفوضية السامية لشؤون اللاجئين (UNHCR) وبحسب ما ترجمه مركز الصحافة الاجتماعية أمس الأربعاء 26 حزيران (يونيو) 2024 وبمناسبة يوم اللاجئ العالمي والذكرى السبعين لتأسيس المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين في مصر، وقعت المفوضية وروتاري مصر اتفاقية تعاون عامة في القاهرة في 25 يونيو للعمل معًا على التزامهما المشترك بدعم اللاجئين وطالبي اللجوء في مصر.
وأضاف الموقع وبموجب الاتفاقية التي تمت بقيادة لجنة الإغاثة في حالات الكوارث التابعة لروتاري، ستقوم روتاري مصر بتقديم دعمها لبرامج وخدمات المفوضية في جميع المحافظات على مدى فترة سنتين حتى يونيو 2026. سيتم توجيه هذا الدعم من خلال اللجان المختلفة و136 ناديًا ضمن روتاري مصر ، الذين يضمون أكثر من 3000 عضو. ستشمل الأنشطة منحًا نقدية لمكتب المفوضية في مصر لتعزيز برامجها، وخدمات مجانية للاجئين وطالبي اللجوء، مثل بناء القدرات لتعزيز مهارات كسب الرزق للاجئين، وخدمات الرعاية الصحية مثل العمليات الجراحية، والفحوصات الطبية وغيرها.
