أعلنت السلطات اليونانية عن الحداد لمدة ثلاثة أيام على خلفية غرق مركب يحمل مئات المهاجرين قبالة سواحلها أمس الأربعاء.
أفادت مصادر دولية بأنّ رئيس الوزراء اليوناني أعلن الحداد 3 أيام في البلاد على خلفية مقتل قرابة 80 لاجئًا بينهم سوريون إثر غرق مركب كانوا على متنه قبالة السواحل اليونانية.
وقد قدّرت السلطات اليونانية في بيان نشرته عبر نعرفاتها عدد المهاجرين على متن ذلك المركب ما بين 500 و 750 شخصًا.
وأضافت السلطات اليونانية في بيانها أنّها تمكّنت من إنقاذ 100 شخص فيما لا تزال عمليات البحث عن المفقودين مستمرة.
الجدير بالذكر أنّ مئات اللاجئين فقدوا حياتهم على الحدود اليونانية أثناء محاولتهم الوصول إلى أوروبا بحثًا عن حياة آمنة ومستقرة.
