وبحسب صحيفة الوحدة المقربة من النظام اليوم فإن الأهالي سيجدون صعوبة جراء استخدام جسر المشاة خاصة بالنسبة لكبار السن والمرضى ومن يحملون معهم حقائب وأغراض ثقيلة الوزن حيث يتجاوز عدد درجات الجسر ٣٠ درجة، إضافة لصعوبة تحرك الأمهات برفقة أطفالهن وعربات الأطفال وعربات ذوي الحاجات الخاصة.
وأشار المصدر إلى فشل هذه الخطوة في تنظيم المرور وتأمين سلامة المواطنين، حيث أن الازدحام سيتحول إلى ما قبل المنصف و سيحاول العابرون قطع الطريق من تلك النقطة حتى لا يستخدموا الجسر والدرج.
كما استاء أصحاب البسطات والأكشاك تذمروا جراء هذه الخطوة لصعوبة وصول الزبائن إليهم وسيؤثر على عملهم، موضحين بأن إجراءات المدينة السابقة في موقع الكراج الجديد فيها الكثير من التخبط بدءاً من تخطيط الدوار والتراجع عنه وتصغيره لاحقاً، إلى المثلث العريض.
فيما يعاني الأهالي في طرطوس من إهمال حكومة النظام لنظافة شوارع المدينة، ما جعل القمامة تملأ الأرصفة والحاويات وما حولها لأيام طويلة، مع إصرار المسؤولين على الاستمرار باتهام المواطنين بالتسبب بأزمة سوء النظافة.
