هكذا كان صيف أوروبا عبارة عن مزيج غريب من الأمطار الغزيرة وحرائق الغابات. كما عانى اقتصاد القارة من التطرف وظل التضخم ساخنا: ارتفعت الأسعار بنسبة 5.3% في أغسطس مقارنة بالعام السابق.
ويشعر المسؤولون بقلق متزايد إزاء توقعات النمو الغامضة. يشير الانخفاض الأخير في مؤشر مديري المشتريات ( pmi ) إلى أن الكتلة تواجه الركود.
نشر موقع بريطاني”economistgroup” مقالة ترجمها المركز الصحفي السوري بتصرف قال فيها قبيل الاجتماع القادم للبنك المركزي الأوروبي في الرابع عشر من سبتمبر/أيلول، سوف يشعر صناع القرار السياسي بالقلق إزاء احتمال ظهور الركود التضخمي (وهو الوضع الذي يقترن فيه النمو المنخفض بالتضخم الراسخ) .
ومؤخراً أكدت كريستين لاجارد، رئيسة البنك المركزي، التزامها بخفض التضخم وتحديد أسعار الفائدة عند “مستويات مقيدة بالقدر الكافي طالما كان ذلك ضرورياً لتحقيق عودة التضخم في الوقت المناسب إلى هدفنا البالغ 2% في الأمد المتوسط”. وبعبارات واضحة: يفضل البنك المركزي الأوروبي “الهبوط الصعب”، الذي يتسم بالألم الاقتصادي، على الفشل في الحد من ارتفاع الأسعار.
