تداولت وسائل إعلام عربية أنباء عن حيازة وزير الطاقة والمياه اللبناني “وليد فياض” لمواد مخدرة وضبطها في مطار الجزائر من قبل أجهزة الجمارك خلال رحلته للمشاركة في القمة العربية.
ونشر موقع “فيتو” المصري و مواقع عربية عدة أنباءً عن إحالة فياض للتحقيق لحيازته كميات من الماريجوانا وبذورها وزيت الحشيش.
وعلى فيسبوك نشر حساب باسم “toufic youssef” أن بلداً تاريخه مشبوه لا غرابة أن تفتش السلطات اللبنانية وليد فياض وتعثر في حقيبته على حشيش، فقد فعلها قبله البوليس الأمريكي في إطلاق الكلاب البوليسية على الرئيس “سليمان فرنجية” لحظة انضمامه للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة عام 1974.
فيما نفى المكتب الإعلامي للوزير اللبناني وليد فياض ما تداولته المواقع الإعلامية، وأنه يأسف لتداول شائعات مغرضة وكاذبة مضللة للحقيقة، في الوقت الذي يقوم فيه فياض بعمل دؤوب مع الوفد الحكومي في الجزائر واللقاء مع مسؤولين لتأمين الفيول لشركة الكهرباء في لبنان.
