أعلنت السفارة الأمريكية في دمشق اليوم بأن الولايات المتحدة تدين بشدة الفظائع التي ارتكبها نظام الأسد، وتدعم السوريين في سعيهم لتحقيق العدالة والمساواة.
وأشارت السفارة عبر صفحتها الشخصية على فيسبوك إلى تجديد تفويض لجنة التحقيق الدولية المستقلة بشأن سوريا بسبب تقاريرها الموثوقة والتي تعتبر حاسمة لمواجهة المعلومات المضللة وتعزيز المساءلة عن الفظائع التي ارتكبها نظام الأسد.
وأضاف المصدر بأن الولايات المتحدة ستواصل العمل مع لجنة التحقيق في هذه الجهود.
وأكد المصدر على الدعم الثابت للشعب السوري وهو يتعافى من الزلازل المدمرة في شباط /فبراير، وعدم استغلال هذه المأساة لصالح النظام السوري.
وأوضح المصدر بأن الولايات المتحدة ستستمر بتقديم الدعم الثابت للعديد من منظمات المجتمع المدني والناشطين السوريين الذين يعملون على تقديم الجناة إلى العدالة من خلال توثيقهم لانتهاكات حقوق الإنسان، ودعم لجنة التحقيق التابعة للأمم المتحدة بشأن سوريا، وبأن من حق الشعب السوري أن يعيش في سلام دائم ويستحق مستقبلا عادلا وحرا.
الجدير بالإشارة بأن الولايات المتحدة بالتنسيق مع بريطانيا أدرجت خلال حملتها، شهر المحاسبة، أفراد رئيسيين يدعمون نظام الأسد وإنتاج الكبتاغون الذي يساعد في تمويل القمع والإجرام على لائحة العقوبات.
